Marigold-5 Locking Cable
The Marigold-5 locking cable is a specialized 12-inch USB-C power cable with retention screws on both ends. Its 20 AWG power conductors are designed to reduce voltage drop at high loads.
Installation
Section titled “Installation”- Fully insert each USB-C connector before securing its retention screw.
- Tighten each retention screw until secure. Do not overtighten.
- Perform a tug test, the cable should not pull out.
- Route the cable with strain relief and keep it away from sharp edges and moving mechanisms.
- Inspect the connectors, jacket, and screws before powering.

Voltage drop testing
Section titled “Voltage drop testing”
Results use a 5.1V source from a Marigold-5. Our cable measured 4.972V at 3A, 4.826V at 6A, and 4.668V at 9A. These results equal voltage drops of 0.128V, 0.274V, and 0.432V.
